MULTI FUNCTION FAN CONTROL

When I was ready to install an electric fan on my truck, I decided I wanted to retain the OE shroud for appearance.  This meant I was going to use the Motorcraft RF-86 fan, modified to fit in the OE shroud.  I had seen various installations using three straps, some with the fan centered in the shroud, some with it off center.  My finished execution is somewhat unique and is shown here .

The next issue was the controller.  The first thing I discovered is that there is no aftermarket controller that will deal with a two speed fan.  I worked out a design based on what I believe to be the best available, adding an auto-reset circuit breaker and a second relay for the high speed.  This also required the addition of a temperature switch to control the high speed actuation.
I also decided I did not want the fan to run at all times when the A/C was on.  I dealt with this by adding a temperature switch that is attached to the A/C condenser.

The end result, shown below, is a system that will control either a two speed fan or dual fans independently.  With the additional temperature switches, the low speed or first fan will turn on at an adjustable temperature, (I have mine set at 180 with a 170 thermostat).  The high speed or second fan turns on at a fixed 205.  The low speed or second fan will also turn on when the A/C condenser temperature demands it.  As a result, at speeds above 40-50 mph, the fans shut down completely.

The kit contains complete, easy to follow instructions and all necessary hardware for a neat and tidy installation.  The unit is covered by a 90 day, no questions asked, warranty.

I have customers who live 110+ climates (Arizona) who are using them with complete satisfaction.
