FUEL PUMP INSTALLATION
Bosch 255 lph
OE Pump removed, level sensor mechanism
removed (temporarily).
Foot on bottom must be cut off and the two screw tabs for the level sensor must
be tweaked slightly
to clear the larger diameter pump.
Discharge tube has been shortened and thoroughly deburred, return tube has been
relocated to behind the bracket
Pump installed and connected. Be sure
to double clamp both ends of the hose
Inlet height is set at approximately 3/4" above the bottom of the tank.
Level sensor mechanism has been reinstalled and "adjusted" to swing in the fore
and aft plane so
that it does not rub the side of the tank....it will stick.
This shot shows the crazy angle of the
float when lifted, after realignment.
Don't worry, it will work fine.
This is the most important check.
Make absolutely sure that the pump is insulated from the bracket.
